New Delhi [India], March 20:<\/strong> Sigma University recently welcomed its 2024 batch of fresher\u2019s with an engaging eight-day orientation program designed to foster connections and introduce students to campus life. The event featured a variety of activities that not only encouraged interaction among students but also provided insights into academic and extracurricular opportunities.<\/p>\n

The orientation commenced with a motivational movie screening aimed at inspiring students about their purpose in higher education and the importance of diligence for future success. Each day was themed around different activities, including sports, team-building exercises, and indoor games, which\u00a0facilitated\u00a0a\u00a0comfortable\u00a0environment\u00a0for\u00a0students\u00a0to\u00a0bond\u00a0with\u00a0one\u00a0another\u00a0and\u00a0with\u00a0faculty members.<\/p>\n

On the second\u00a0day,\u00a0students were introduced\u00a0to\u00a0campus facilities and\u00a0activities,\u00a0including\u00a0hands-on demonstrations of advanced technologies such as 3D printing and laser cutting. The Faculty of Hospitality\u00a0and\u00a0Tourism\u00a0hosted\u00a0a\u00a0guest\u00a0lecture\u00a0focused\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0aviation\u00a0industry,\u00a0enriching\u00a0students\u2019 understanding of various career paths.<\/p>\n

The third and fourth days were dedicated to sports and games, allowing students to participate in activities\u00a0like\u00a0carom,\u00a0chess,\u00a0gully\u00a0cricket,\u00a0and\u00a0badminton.\u00a0This\u00a0not\u00a0only\u00a0promoted\u00a0teamwork\u00a0but\u00a0also provided a break from academic pressures.<\/p>\n

Midway through the orientation, students engaged in creative classroom activities, including decorating their spaces and participating in competitions. Notably, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology organized a debate on \u201cEmployment Trends in India,\u201d enhancing students\u2019 public speaking\u00a0skills\u00a0and\u00a0critical\u00a0thinking.\u00a0Additionally,\u00a0a\u00a0cake\u00a0decorating\u00a0workshop\u00a0offered\u00a0by\u00a0the\u00a0Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism allowed students to explore culinary arts.<\/p>\n

The final days featured a range of engaging activities such as quizzes, brainstorming sessions, and competitions.\u00a0A\u00a0highlight\u00a0was\u00a0a\u00a0culinary\u00a0challenge\u00a0where\u00a0students\u00a0created\u00a0their\u00a0own\u00a0flavors\u00a0of\u00a0Maggi noodles, showcasing their creativity and taste.<\/p>\n

To conclude the orientation, cultural activities were organized, including a Mehndi and Rangoli competition,\u00a0a\u00a0Gujarat\u00a0Tourism quiz,\u00a0and\u00a0a\u00a0village\u00a0visit\u00a0as\u00a0part\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0induction\u00a0program.\u00a0Students were\u00a0also\u00a0introduced to the Shaily Incubation\u00a0and Startup\u00a0Centre,\u00a0which\u00a0provides mentorship for innovative business ideas.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0orientation\u00a0culminated\u00a0on\u00a0July\u00a022,\u00a0coinciding\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0induction\u00a0program,\u00a0where\u00a0seniors entertained the freshers with performances in dance, drama, and music, creating a vibrant atmosphere to kick off their college journey.<\/p>\n
