The School of Business Management, Noida International University: organised Business Trithon on 28th April 2023, where students from various colleges from Delhi-NCR and other states participated in the Business Trithon, the event comprised three activities; Business Plan Competition, Business Quiz, and Extempore.

The event began with an Inaugural ceremony, graced by Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Parsanjeet Kumar, in his account, exhorted all participating teams and extended his best wishes. The Prof.(Dr.) Subhash Kumar Verma, Director of the School of Business Management, underlined the importance of such events that provide a potential platform for participants to brainstorm, learn and execute their plans.

He also welcomed the guests Dr Bipin Srivastava- IIC Ambassador., Mr Shashank Saxena- Research Lead- 13 D Research and Strategy, and Dr Neha Tomer from ICFAI University Dehradun, regards with floral bouquet, Dr Prasanjeet Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor of Noida International University, gave a welcome address to encourage students to give their best at the competitions.

Mr Shashank Saxena also encouraged students to learn from the ideas and the problems. Mr Saxena has given many examples and said we are here to learn innovative ideas and motivate students to give their best.

A total of 12 teams from different colleges participated in the Business Plan Competition. The teams came up with many creative ideas which had the potential to become successful business ventures. Dr Neha Tomar, Dr Manju Kundu, and Mr Shashank Saxena judged the event. The jury evinced a great interest in all the plans presented and came up with many valuable suggestions. The business Plan Competition has been coordinated by Dr Shilpi Singh, Associate Professor, and Mr Rahul Kapoor, Assistant Professor, SBM-NIU.

In the Extempore, A total of 17 students participated from different Institutions and universities. The topics given to the participants were from various subjects like Health, Education, Social Media, Environment, and others.  

The participants were supposed to speak on the topic for two minutes. This competition was judged by Dr Apurva Chatterjee, NIU, and Dr Bipin Kumar Srivastava, Galgotias University. The program was conducted by Mr Anil Verma, Asstt. Professor and Ms Shikha Goyal, Asstt. Professor, School Of Business Management, Noida International University.

Business Quiz-conducted by Ms Archana Kumari and Dr Saba Parveen, Assistant Professor, School of Business Management. Here, 24 Teams from various institutes participated in Business Quiz. After the inaugural session, the business quiz started with a preliminary round for selecting the top ten finalists. Twenty-four teams have participated in the written preliminary round, which consists of 40 MCQs to be completed in 30 minutes. After shortlisting the ten finalists, the Final Business Quiz Stage Round was started. There were four rounds. The second round was the elimination round, in which five teams got eliminated since only five teams played the 3rd and 4th rounds.  The session was looked after by Dr Shraddha Purohit, Associate Professor, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Noida International University.

In the end, the result of all the Competitions has been declared. Angelina D’Souza from Galgotias University won the third position, Vivek Kumar, G. L. Bajaj Institute of Management and Research bagged the Second position, and Sheetal Chauhan, SBM- Noida International University bagged the first position in Extempore.  Simran Arora and Vivek Kumar from GL Bajaj won the third position, Simran Arora and Vivek Kumar from the SBM-NIU team won the second position, and Rishik Srivastava and Shashand Kumar from Sharda University Bagged first position in Business Quiz.

The team from SLLA-NIU won the third position, the Team from GL Bajaj bagged Second position, and the team from ICFAI University, Dehradun, bagged First position in Business Plan Competition.

The jury members have also decided to fund the team Ignite Sports Club for their outstanding idea. All winners have been facilitated with goodies and internship opportunities from The BEEP. At the end of the day’s activities, Dr Nitin Chaturvedi, HOD, SBM-NIU, gave the vote of thanks.  The overall coordination was done by Dr Yamini Pandey, Associate Professor, and Dr Pallavi Tandon, Assistant Professor, SBM-NIU.
