New Delhi [India], November 7:  In a historic appointment, Dr Sahil Singh has been appointed as the ambassador and envoy to India by the Pan-African Inter-governmental Agency for Water and Sanitation (WSA), marking a significant milestone as the first Indian to achieve the coveted position of an ambassador at the age of 29. This groundbreaking appointment positions him as a crucial bridge between India and Africa in the critical domains of water and sanitation, bilateral and multilateral relations between the nations, and international diplomatic cooperation.

“As the youngest Indian ambassador in history at age 29, I am deeply committed to strengthening the bonds between India and Africa. Dr. Sahil Singh’s journey exemplifies excellence across multiple disciplines. A distinguished academician and serial entrepreneur, hailing from Rudrapur in Uttarakhand, he has established himself as a formidable presence in the technology sector since joining NIELIT under the Ministry of Communication and IT, Government of India, in 2013. Also, he was appointed as the P. S. to the Minister of Ores & Minerals, Government of Uttarakhand from 2016-2017.

His expertise spans an impressive array of technical domains, supported by 33 diplomas and certifications in computer science and IT. He has founded tech companies across various countries, demonstrating exceptional business acumen.

Sahil’s leadership extends to roles as Managing Director, Chairman, and Advisor to multiple multinational companies, showcasing his global perspective and diplomatic capabilities.

The World Sanitation Agency (WSA), a UN Observer, has been at the forefront of developing innovative approaches and technologies in the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector since 1988. Originally established as CREPA, WSA has evolved into a comprehensive pan-African institution operating through three key bodies: the WSA Foundation, Research and Competence Centre, and Enterprise & Investment Group. The organisation’s mandate encompasses all African nations, focusing on sustainable water and sanitation solutions while incorporating economic and financial models to enhance sector funding.
