Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 26: Social activist and humanitarian Manpreet Kaur was honoured in a grand ceremony held in Mumbai on July 25, 2025, where she received the prestigious Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Award. The award was presented by celebrated actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood and BJP leader Shaina NC, in the distinguished presence of Union Minister Narayan Rane and several former Chief Ministers.

Manpreet Kaur was recognised for her remarkable contributions to society through her relentless social and religious service. Most notably, she organized a month-long free bhandara (community kitchen) during Kumbh Mela 2025, where lakhs of devotees were served wholesome meals every day—irrespective of caste, creed, or background.

In his address, Sonu Sood stated, “Manpreet Kaur is a true icon of service. Her efforts during Kumbh 2025 and beyond are a shining example of humanity at its best.” Shaina NC added, “Honouring such tireless dedication is not just a gesture—it’s a reminder of the kind of leadership and compassion our society needs.”

Union Minister Narayan Rane praised her contributions, emphasizing that grassroots changemakers like Manpreet are the backbone of India’s social fabric.
