Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], July 29: Techno India University has conferred its Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.), Honoris Causa, upon Ravindra Chamaria, Chairman and Managing Director of Infinity Group. The degree was presented at the university’s Annual Convocation 2026 in Kolkata on July 26, 2026, in recognition of his outstanding legacy of visionary leadership, institution-building and social impact.
The honour recognises Ravindra Chamaria’s pioneering role in helping transform Eastern India into a leading technology and innovation hub through landmark green infrastructure, as well as his contributions to entrepreneurship, education, institutional development, and philanthropy that have positively impacted thousands of lives. It celebrates a career shaped as much by dedication to nation-building and social upliftment as by commercial success.
He received the honour alongside a distinguished group of personalities, including Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, Dr. Naresh Chandra Murmu and celebrated vocalist Anup Jalota, among other achievers from varied fields. The convocation, one of Eastern India’s most prominent academic events, honoured individuals whose work has left a lasting impact across industry, culture, sport and public life.

This is the second honorary doctorate conferred on Ravindra Chamaria within a year, following the Honorary Doctorate in Management he received from ASBM University, Odisha, in September 2025 — reflecting the growing recognition of his contributions to business, education and society.
